The thrill-seeking reality series, Tornado Hunters, has won the 2015 Realscreen Award for Digital and Branded Content - Multi-Platform Project. The awards, which pay tribute to outstanding content from around the world, were presented June 2, in Santa Monica, California, during what Realscreen calls a celebration of non-fiction and factual entertainment excellence.
The Digital and Branded Content - Multi-Platform Project award recognizes “a non-fiction or reality project that has distinct yet inter-related components spread across several media platforms.” A strategic release of digital-only webisodes, social media content and a two-part pilot were the ingredients that helped garner the recent win. But to get right to it, Tornado Hunters, which airs on CMT (Canada) was up against Apocalypse: 10 Lives (France/Canada) and Gordon Ramsay's MasterChef (U.S.).
"We're honored and thrilled," said Executive Producer Michael Kot. "This recognition from Realscreen is a fantastic boost for Saloon Media and the Tornado Hunters who are in the midst of shooting another exciting tornado hunting season."

The Tornado Hunters team is currently on location in Tornado Alley, filming their 10-part series slated to premiere this Fall 2015 on CMT (Canada).
