Tornado Hunters Set To Take Fall Television By Storm

October 13, 2015

Making the transition from web-based fan favourite to regularly scheduled programming, Saloon Media’s Tornado Hunters launches October 18 at 9 pm ET/PT on CMT (Canada)

On Sunday, October 18 at 9 pm ET/PT, viewers can join in on the hunt as Greg Johnson, Ricky Forbes and Chris Chittick, the weather-obsessed heroes of Tornado Hunters (10 x 30 minutes), begin their most high-stakes, professionally and personally challenging season of storm chasing ever.

Dramatic weather isn’t the only thing clouding their horizons, as friction with family, internal power struggles and even deadly swamp creatures cross their paths! The question to be answered each time out: can these three intrepid tornado hunters survive the road and each other to capture their most epic, mind-blowing storm footage yet?

“We as Canadians are obsessed with weather, and it seems the more extreme, the more captivated we are, which is what makes Tornado Hunters such a compelling show,” said Michael Kot, Executive Producer, Saloon Media. “We are excited to have the audience ride along with Greg, Ricky and Chris as they track and capture the world’s most deadly and intense weather over the course of this exciting season.”

The first and only full-time extreme weather chasing company ever launched from Canada, the Tornado Hunters became immediate social media sensations after the 2014 launch of the two pilots and five webisodes that aired on CMT.ca. The web series was the highest performing video content in the history of the site, driving fans onto social media platforms to comment, engage and track the storms with Greg, Chris and Ricky, whose online following continues to grow daily. The web series won the Realscreen Award for Digital and Branded Content. Now entering its first full broadcast season, the series remains fully interactive, engaging fans with original content and direct access via social media to the three storm chasers.

Developed with the participation of the Bell Fund, Tornado Hunters was produced by Saloon Media with a team led by Executive Producer Michael Kot and Producer/Director Paul Kilback, in association with CMT. The series will air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT starting October 18.
