Anna entered television through an unusual route. She was a marine biologist and geneticist studying population and evolutionary genetics while traipsing through jungles and scuba diving, before consulting on a documentary and entering television.
Today, Anna works as an Executive, Producer, Writer and consultant in both production and broadcasting. She’s responsible for the editorial content of over 150+ hours of original HD, 4K and HDR programming for linear, SVOD and short form digital formats.
Working closely with international content creators, Anna leads programming that builds reach, engagement and viewership. She’s committed to producing high quality, compelling and entertaining programming that competes on a global scale. Her projects include award winning shows such as Rooted and the internationally acclaimed series Orangutan Jungle School.
Anna works in a wide variety of genres, including both factual (nature, science, lifestyle, history, docu-drama, crime, etc.) and scripted programming. She also continues to consult on filming in the medical, legal and scientific communities.
Originally from Sweden, Anna has lived, worked and travelled around the world, overseeing projects both nationally and internationally. She currently lives with her husband (writer/director Derek Rucas) in Toronto, Canada, where the two collaborate on both feature and series script development.
Anna is currently working with WTFN (Australia) on the series Bondi Vet: Coast to Coast, an upcoming spinoff to the internationally acclaimed Bondi Vet.
